M5 Industrial HVAF System for Flash Carbide Applications
The Uniquecoat Flash Carbide package includes the M5F single-stage HVAF gun, an MFC-based control system, and a G4 gravimetric powder feeder.
This configuration is optimized for the application of ultra-fine WC-10Co-4Cr powders (2–15 µm), ensuring stable powder feeding, uniform particle heating, and precise coating thickness control.
The system produces thin, dense, low-porosity coatings characteristic of Flash Carbide technology, suitable for near-net-shape and precision components.
Flash Carbide Coatings
Uniquecoat Flash Carbide is an ultra-thin, high-density WC-10Co-4Cr coating applied by the HVAF process and engineered to replace hard chrome and traditional HVOF coatings.
It is typically 15–30 µm thick, yet fully impermeable, achieving hardness 1500-1550 HV₃₀₀ with near-zero porosity and a low as-sprayed surface roughness (Ra ≈ 1.1–1.2 µm), eliminating the need for dimensional grinding.
The coating provides excellent resistance to wear, erosion, and corrosion, along with extended fatigue life and minimal substrate heating, making it well suited for near-net-shape and precision components such as hydraulic rods, plungers, and industrial rollers.
